I SPECIALIZE IN BRANDING, HAND LETTERING, WEB DESIGN, & ALL THINGS GRAPHIC DESIGN.
I started Give Ten Co. because I had a passion to use my skills to give a little love back into my community. 10 cents of every dollar you spend with me goes towards a non-profit making a difference.
I grew up in a small dutch town in northwest Washington called Lynden, where I was introduced to graphic design from a young age. I had an internship in high school and went on to get my Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from Biola University in southern California. While at school, I started working as the Graphic Designer for a non-profit called Solidarity in Fullerton, CA. It was here that I started Give Ten Co.
After graduating college in three years, I moved away to Augusta, Georgia when I married a man in the military. It was here where I would endure the hardest times of my life, as my husband was abusive in many ways. Never being educated on abuse (and being a devoted Christian), I kept everything a secret - not wanting to taint his character & believing divorce was a sin. After a three & a half years of enduring the abusive marriage, I finally opened up to my parents & several close friends about some of the things he was saying and doing to me. Their response was how I first learned what I was going through was NOT normal, and I was encouraged to leave & find safety.
After safely moving back to Fullerton, CA, and being surrounded by a supportive church, friends & family members, my journey towards healing began. I wrote a Facebook post about my story in February of 2019 on my birthday, seeking to educate friends on what abuse actually looks like, and encouraging parents to teach their daughters about abuse. The post went viral and I now manage a closed Facebook group for domestic violence/abuse victims & survivors. We now have over 17,000 members worldwide, and I manage the page along with over 24 other women volunteers across the U.S.
Needless to say, domestic violence has become a major passion of mine. I believe no one should feel unsafe in their own home, and I seek to support non-profits locally and nationally who are saving the lives of DV victims by providing education, safety, and support (along with several other non-profits near & dear to my heart.)
My graphic & web design packages are personally tailored for each individual customer and project. I understand that each project is unique and has equally unique demands. Generally speaking, I charge $60/hr. These are the average times it takes to complete a service:
